Marshall to Host Pre-Deployment Ceremony for National Guard Soldiers

The Minnesota National Guard has announced a public pre-deployment ceremony to honor approximately 70 soldiers from Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 151st Field Artillery Regiment, as they prepare for a yearlong deployment to the Middle East.

The ceremony will take place Wednesday, May 28 at 5 p.m. at the Red Baron Arena & Expo in Marshall.

The deploying soldiers, who come from more than 65 communities across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Michigan, will be supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.

Their mission will include providing accurate artillery fire in support of maneuver units in the U.S. Central Command region. This deployment is part of a routine rotation with the Iowa-based 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division.

Prior to deploying overseas, the unit will train at Fort Johnson, Louisiana, where they will participate in a Joint Readiness Training Center rotation. They will also undergo approximately four weeks of pre-mobilization training. The unit is expected to return in May 2026.

The upcoming ceremony is intended to offer a moment of recognition for the service and commitment of the Citizen-Soldiers and give family members, friends, and community members a chance to express their support.

The event will be streamed live on Studio 1 TV via the Marshall Community Access Facebook page, website (marshallstudio1tv.com/studio1live), Spectrum channel 180, Bluepeak channel 325, and on the Alpha Battery Facebook event page.

Media are invited to attend and are encouraged to RSVP through Maj. Nathan Wallin. More information on the Minnesota National Guard can be found at MinnesotaNationalGuard.ng.mil.

Local Business Spotlight: Redefining Radiance: How a Local Nurse Created a Beauty Haven

In the heart of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, a new sanctuary for wellness and beauty has taken root. Blush & Bliss Med Spa, nestled within the Hair Company Salon & Spa on East 2nd Street, is redefining how the local community experiences self-care.

Combining cutting-edge aesthetic treatments with a warm, personal approach, this full-service medical spa offers more than just a service—it offers transformation, confidence, and rejuvenation.

At Blush & Bliss, visitors are welcomed into a calming space where modern medical aesthetics meet small-town hospitality. The spa offers a thoughtful array of treatments designed to help clients feel and look their best—ranging from injectable treatments and dermal fillers to microneedling, IV hydration therapy, hormone replacement therapy, and more.

Each service is carefully chosen and administered with attention to safety, comfort, and results. Whether someone is seeking skin rejuvenation, energy-boosting vitamin infusions, or even bridal party packages to help make a special day even more radiant, the experience at Blush & Bliss is tailored and elevated.

The story behind the spa is as compelling as the services it provides. Blush & Bliss is the realization of a vision brought to life by Maisie Hagert, a registered nurse with over 13 years of experience in acute care, oncology, hospice, and home health.

Driven by a deep-rooted desire to help people feel good in their own skin, Maisie found her calling in medical aesthetics. She launched the spa with the help of a microloan from the Southwest Initiative Foundation, turning a dream into a business that now serves individuals across the region with compassion and precision.

Maisie isn’t alone in delivering this elevated care. Alongside her is Samantha Bryce, a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with an impressive background in healthcare and education. Together, they bring a level of clinical expertise that distinguishes Blush & Bliss from traditional beauty spas, making it a trusted choice for those who prioritize health and safety as much as beauty.

Blush & Bliss is also committed to accessibility. Complimentary consultations are available for anyone considering treatment, and financing options through Cherry make even advanced aesthetic care more approachable.

For group events or bridal parties, mobile services are available, bringing the spa’s signature offerings directly to clients.

With a growing base of loyal clients and a reputation for exceptional, empathetic care, Blush & Bliss Med Spa is quickly becoming a cornerstone of self-care in the Redwood Falls area.

Whether someone is preparing for a special event, addressing long-standing skin concerns, or simply taking a moment to invest in themselves, this med spa delivers an experience that’s equal parts science, artistry, and heart.
