Tragic Tree Accident in Ghent Leaves One Dead

A 42-year-old man from Marshall lost his life Friday evening in a tree cutting accident in Ghent, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred in the 300 block of West Burlingame Street, where Miguel Antonio Ramirez-Monterroso was assisting with cutting down a tree. During the process, he was struck by a falling branch. Witnesses quickly called emergency services after realizing something was wrong.
Emergency responders arrived and removed Ramirez-Monterroso from the tree, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
