Attempted Pass Leads to Three-Car Crash in Lyon County

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a three-vehicle crash Tuesday evening near the intersection of 310th Avenue and County Road 6.
The collision, which occurred at approximately 9:00 PM, involved a 2015 Ford pickup, a 2019 Toyota Camry, and a 2021 Chevy Traverse, all heading eastbound.
According to authorities, the Camry, driven by a 19-year-old from Tracy, attempted to pass another vehicle and sideswiped the Ford pickup, operated by a 39-year-old Walnut Grove man.
As the crash unfolded, the driver of the Traverse—a 42-year-old woman, also from Walnut Grove—tried to avoid the incident but ended up sideswiping the same pickup. Two juvenile girls were riding in the Traverse at the time.
No injuries were reported in the crash. The Camry driver received a citation for failing to drive with due care.
Help Build a Playground: True Light Christian School Hosts April 22 Event

True Light Christian School is inviting the community to join in a conversation and fundraising effort to bring a long-awaited playground project to life.
The school has been working toward this goal for several years and is now aiming to raise the final $30,000 needed to complete the initiative.
An event will be held on April 22 at 6 p.m. at True Light Christian School, where community members can learn more about the project, hear from school leaders, and explore ways to support the effort.
The school has introduced a tiered donor recognition system to honor contributions of various sizes:
Bronze ($100–$499): Recognition in the school newsletter and on social media, along with a handwritten thank-you note from a student.
Silver ($500–$999): Includes all Bronze-level perks, plus inclusion in a press release.
Gold ($1,000–$4,999): Donors will be featured on permanent signage and receive name and logo placements in the newsletter, on social media, and in press materials.
Platinum ($5,000+): Includes all Gold-level benefits, as well as a name and logo on the school’s website with a business link, a dedicated social media feature, ribbon-cutting recognition, a commemorative donor gift, and a thank-you note from a student.
All donors will receive commemorative stickers as a token of appreciation, regardless of the gift size.
More information and online giving options are available at truelightchristianschool.org/playground.
