Two-Vehicle Collision on I-90 Leaves One Driver in Critical Condition

A two-vehicle collision on Interstate 90 in Nobles County resulted in two people being injured Sunday afternoon, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The crash occurred around 4:34 p.m. when a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox traveling westbound on I-90 struck a 2023 Dodge Durango Squad vehicle.

The driver of the Equinox, 63-year-old Theresa Bear of Sioux Falls, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital in Luverne for treatment.

The driver of the Durango, 30-year-old Arnold Waldner of Worthington, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Sanford Hospital.

Responding agencies included the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Rushmore Fire and Rescue, and Adrian Ambulance.

A fatal crash involving a pickup and a semi-truck occurred late Friday night on Interstate 90 in Nobles County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The incident happened around 10:55 p.m., when a 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 and a 2018 Peterbilt semi, both traveling westbound, collided on I-90.

The driver of the Dodge, 46-year-old Thomas Lostetter of Saint Marys, West Virginia, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. According to the State Patrol, he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

The driver of the semi, 30-year-old Brody Alderson of Lake Benton, was not injured.

Emergency assistance at the scene was provided by the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Adrian Police Department, and Adrian Fire and Medical.
