Non-Profit Donation Brings K-9 Program to Redwood Falls Police

The Redwood Falls City Council approved a $45,500 donation during its January 2, 2025, meeting from PROTECTS, a local non-profit organization.
Established in 2024, PROTECTS focuses on supporting law enforcement by providing resources, officer training, and specialized equipment.
This donation will fund the Redwood Falls Police Department's first-ever K-9 program, covering the purchase of a police dog, training and certification for the handler, and the necessary modifications and equipment for a K-9 squad car.
The project will proceed without requiring financial contributions from city funds.
Tracy and Nowthen Residents Hit Jackpot in Millionaire Raffle

The Minnesota Lottery announced two new millionaires as winners of the 2024 Minnesota Millionaire Raffle claimed their $1 million prizes on Thursday. Both winners chose to remain anonymous.
One winner purchased their lucky ticket in Nowthen, Anoka County, attributing the decision to buy the ticket to their grandmother’s advice. The other winner secured their prize after purchasing three tickets in Tracy when learning there were fewer than 1% of the 800,000 tickets left.
A third $1 million prize ticket sold in Delano remains unclaimed, with the lottery awaiting the lucky individual to come forward.
