New Year’s Eve Turns Tragic with Fatal Stabbing at Windom Pub
On New Year’s Eve a stabbing incident at the Phat Pheasant Pub in Windom resulted in one fatality and another injury.
Windom Police responded to the report at approximately 11:45 PM and found two male victims, aged 30 and 31, with stab wounds.
Officers provided immediate aid at the scene. The 30-year-old victim was transported to Windom Area Hospital but succumbed to his injuries despite life-saving efforts.
Authorities apprehended a 26-year-old suspect from San Diego, CA, shortly after the incident.
Witnesses at the scene identified him as the assailant. The suspect, who sustained minor injuries, received medical treatment at Worthington Hospital and is currently held at the Cottonwood County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing, with no additional details released at this time. Officials have stated that updates will be provided as they become available.
Multiple agencies, including the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Windom and Mountain Lake Ambulances, Minnesota State Patrol, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, assisted in the response.
Marshall Area YMCA to Increase Membership Fees Starting February 2025
Beginning February 1, 2025, the Marshall Area YMCA will introduce updated membership rates to offset rising operational costs and continue offering high-quality programs and services.
The new monthly fees will be as follows:
Youth: $29.50
Full-Time College Student: $45.50
Adult: $60.50
One Adult Family: $66.50
Family: $81.50
This adjustment aims to ensure the YMCA can maintain its facilities, support staff, and uphold its mission of fostering a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all members of the community.
