Intersection Accident in Lincoln County Involves Two Families

A two-vehicle collision in Lincoln County on Saturday evening resulted in two individuals sustaining injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash occurred around 8:03 PM at the intersection of Highway 75 and County Road 13.
A northbound 2014 GMC Acadia and a westbound 2015 GMC Yukon collided in the intersection.
The driver of the Acadia, a 47-year-old woman from Clarkfield, and her 20-year-old passenger were taken to the Tyler hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities noted that the passenger was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Yukon, a 35-year-old man, along with his adult passenger and two children, ages six and eight, were unharmed.
Emergency responders included the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Benton Fire Department, Tyler Ambulance, and Lake Benton First Responders.
New Fire Truck and Aquatic Center Costs Covered by ARPA Funds

The City of Marshall has decided to utilize its remaining American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to support the purchase of a new fire truck and cover some of the costs associated with the Aquatic Center project.
During the Marshall City Council meeting on Tuesday, members approved the allocation of over $800,000 in ARPA funding with a 4-1 vote.
The funding needed to be assigned by the end of the year to meet federal guidelines, prompting the council to act swiftly.
The city had received approximately $1.47 million in ARPA funds across 2022 and 2023, along with an additional $200,000 from Lyon County.
A portion of the Lyon County funding, $172,150, will go toward the purchase of a new aerial truck for the Marshall Fire Department, expected to arrive in spring 2025.
The remaining $655,889 of the city's ARPA funding will be applied to architectural and engineering fees incurred this year for the Aquatic Center project.
These allocations ensure that all ARPA funds will be fully utilized by the end-of-year deadline.
While most council members supported the decision, one council member voted against the motion.
