High-Speed Chase Through Renville County Ends with Crash and Arrest

A high-speed chase on Sunday evening through Renville County concluded with a crash and an arrest in Olivia.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office initiated the pursuit at approximately 7:04 PM after attempting to stop a 2016 Dodge Charger near Highway 71 and County Road 17, south of Olivia.

The driver, identified as 19-year-old Carter Wittman of Redwood Falls, fled, leading deputies and an Olivia Police officer into the city.

The chase ended when Wittman’s vehicle collided with a railroad embankment at Elm Avenue West and 12th Street North. No injuries were reported, though the car was heavily damaged.

The pursuit covered 3.5 miles and lasted about three minutes.

Wittman was taken into custody without incident and is expected to face charges from the Renville County Attorney’s Office.

The Olivia Police Department assisted in the response.

Yelloh Closes Chapter in Marshall After 72 Years of Legacy

Yelloh, formerly known as Schwan's Home Delivery, bid an emotional farewell to the Marshall community on Thursday with a delivery truck parade through Main Street.

Seven iconic yellow trucks drove a final route, met by waves, honking horns, and heartfelt goodbyes from local residents.

The procession symbolized the end of Yelloh's operations, concluding a legacy that began over 70 years ago when Marvin Schwan launched the home delivery business with ice cream.

Despite its storied history, Yelloh faced challenges, including supply chain disruptions and changing consumer habits, leading to its closure.

Marshall residents gathered to honor the company's deep-rooted connection to the community, reminiscing about its significant impact on the city's identity.

Many expressed sadness at the loss, recognizing Yelloh’s long-standing role as a cornerstone of Marshall’s heritage.

Though Yelloh is closing, its parent company, Schwan's Company, continues operations in the city.
