Nine Injured in School Bus Collision at Redwood County Intersection

On Wednesday a crash occurred at the intersection of CSAH 7 and 280th Street in Redwood County, involving a 2018 Ford F550 truck and a 2023 school bus serving the Wabasso Public School district.
Preliminary reports indicate the school bus failed to stop at a stop sign, leading to a collision with the truck.
Nine bus passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for evaluation. Emergency services, including the Minnesota State Patrol, responded to the scene.
Following the incident, both vehicles sustained significant damage, requiring tow services to clear the scene. The crash also caused temporary road closures while authorities conducted their investigation.
Local residents expressed concern over the safety of the intersection, noting previous accidents in the area.
The school bus company is conducting an internal review, and the Wabasso Public School district reassured parents that steps are being taken to ensure the safety of future bus routes.
The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office is working closely with investigators to determine the full details of the accident.
Spooky Trails and Family Fun Await at Garvin Park’s Halloween Event
Join in for some Halloween excitement this weekend at Garvin Park for the annual Halloween Trail event.
Running from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on both Friday and Saturday, the free event will feature spooky decorations, animatronics, and volunteers in costume along a decked-out hiking trail.
Visitors can follow clues hidden throughout the trail for a sweet surprise.
Food options will also be available from the Lingen Dairy food truck, offering a $4 meal deal. The event is family-friendly, and parents can arrive earlier for a less spooky experience while it’s still light out.
Garvin Park’s Halloween Trail has grown in popularity over the years, with a full parking lot last year as visitors came to enjoy the attractions.
Alongside the Halloween Trail, families can enjoy the new picnic shelter and playground area, adding to the festive experience.
For those who want to immerse themselves in Halloween spirit, this year promises new surprises and an interactive twist to the trail, making it a fun outing for kids and adults alike.
