Tom Bolin to Leave Marshall YMCA After 11 Years of Leadership
The Marshall Area YMCA is preparing for a leadership transition as Executive Director Tom Bolin steps down to take a new position with the Prairie Lakes Ice Arena in Watertown, S.D.
Bolin, who has led the YMCA since 2012, was involved in significant projects, including the Y’s 20th anniversary celebration and fundraising for pool restoration.
His last day will be October 11, with a farewell celebration planned for October 15.
The YMCA will begin the search for a new CEO, and Associate Executive Director Jessica Dahms will serve as acting CEO in the interim.
Marshall High School Band Impresses at 28th Annual Pursuit of Excellence
The Marshall High School Tiger Marching Band delivered a spirited performance at the 28th annual Pursuit of Excellence, a competition featuring 17 bands from across Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota.
Their show, titled "Run," challenged students to incorporate dynamic movements, including running across the field, while playing music and performing drills.
Despite an early thunderstorm, bands engaged in morning clinics with judges and received valuable feedback to enhance their routines.
The evening competition concluded with several schools, including the Brandon Valley Marching Lynx and the Oriole Pride Marching Band, taking top honors in their respective classes.
