Flooding Crisis in Southern Minnesota: Governor Walz Deploys National Guard

Recent heavy rainfall has caused significant flooding in southern Minnesota, leading to highway closures and prompting Governor Tim Walz to call in the National Guard to assist with emergency response efforts.

The areas most affected include Cottonwood, Lyon, and Murray counties.

The flooding has resulted in road closures, power outages, and disrupted lives, with some regions receiving up to 9 inches of rain.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has been working to address road safety and accessibility issues, while local emergency teams continue to support affected residents and coordinate relief efforts.
