Get ready for a meaningful evening at Independence Park on June 20th from 4 to 7 pm for the "Walk For Memories" event. This event aims to raise awareness about dementia, a condition that affects someone in the U.S. every 65 seconds.
Event Highlights:
Family of Honor: This year's honored family is John and Bonny Doyle
Dress Code: Participants are encouraged to wear purple to show solidarity and support.
Activities: The event offers a range of activities for all ages, including family-friendly booths, live music by Kayla Daniels, giveaways, and drawings. PLUS, the first 200 attendees will receive a swag bag.
Food: Food will be available for purchase, provided by Noon Rotary.
Special Walk: At 6 pm, join the honorary walk to honor and remember those affected by dementia and celebrate the dementia champions in our community.
Merchandise: T-shirts will be on sale to support Lakeview FCCLA at nationals.
While the event is free and does not require registration, free-will donations are welcomed. All proceeds will go to the Marshall Area Dementia Awareness Network. Donations can be made payable to A.C.E. or S.W. MN.
Come together with family and friends to make a difference and show support for those impacted by dementia. Let's walk for memories and celebrate the strength and resilience of our community.

Don’t Miss Montevideo Fiesta Days: Your Guide to the Week-Long Festivities
Get ready for an action-packed week as Montevideo gears up for its annual Fiesta Days from June 11th to June 17th
Montevideo Fiesta Days began as a festival to honor the sister-city relationship with Montevideo, Uruguay, which started in 1905 with an exchange of flags.
A notable symbol of this relationship is the statue of General Jose Artigas, a gift from Uruguay in 1949. This eleven-foot bronze statue, symbolizing the Uruguayan fight for independence, was dedicated with great fanfare and attended by Minnesota dignitaries.
Since then, Montevideo Fiesta Days has become a beloved annual event, featuring activities for all ages, BBQs, dances, and parades, celebrating the friendship between the two cities.
